About the position
The Assurance Manager is someone with 6+ years of experience as an accountant with a CPA Firm, who is a leader in the assurance department, provides accurate and timely assurance and accounting services in all areas, and continues to ensure the development of the assurance staff. The Assurance Manager has a professional attitude and is an expert in employee benefit plan auditing and accounting. .
Responsibilities of the role include:
Supervises staff and seniors.
Reviews planning and risk assessments prepared by seniors.
Leads and manages teams to meet client timelines.
Responsible for scheduling of personnel on engagements.
Manages the engagement time budgets; anticipates and communicates time budget issues.
Reviews financial statements and footnote disclosures and other deliverables.
Reviews the work of staff and seniors prior to submitting to engagement Principal for review.
Key assistant to the Directors/Principals. Enables directors/Principals to serve a larger number of clients without lessening their response or effectiveness, including the detail review of Directors/Principals engagements.
Trains and evaluates staff and seniors.
Thinks strategically about client needs.
Looks for leadership opportunities at community, professional, and networking organizations.
Looks for business development opportunities to provide additional services to existing clients.
Coordinates and leads internal continuing education sessions.
Attends professional development and training sessions on a regular and consistent basis.
Must keep up-to-date with regulatory continuing professional education (CPE) requirements that help to enhance your area of expertise.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
